Day 24: Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Cookies ~ Life After Wheat

Day 24: Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Cookies ~ Life After Wheat

This is Day 24 of my #GFcookiesadvent calendar event. Click here to see the other blogger’s recipes.

Day 24: Today marks the last day of the 2015 Gluten Free Cookie Advent Calendar event on This Fox Kitchen. I hope you enjoyed the series and scored yourself some new cookie recipes as well as discovering some new bloggers to follow. I had fun doing the series as I loved all the recipes and got to know some of my fellow bloggers a bit better.

Take Celeste from Life After Wheat. We’ve only ever bumped into each other a few times on a Gluten Free Bloggers Facebook Forum but after a few minutes on Celeste’s About Page, I now know that she started developing recipes and blogging gluten free after her husband’s food allergy diagnosis in 2012.  Since then, she has developed a gluten free flour mix that holds up cup for cup in almost any recipe.

Today’s recipe for Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Cookies is a great way to use up a few of those leftover candy canes. I never eat candy canes on their own but add those peppermint babies to chocolate chip cookies and I could finish the entire batch. Peppermint and chocolate are two flavours made for each other … don’t you think?

While you’re over on Celeste’s site, you’ll want to browse through her recipes. I did, and although it has been some time since I tackled any gluten free bread baking, one look at her Sandwich Bread recipe makes me want to dig out the old bread pan and bake up a loaf.
